This programme is tailor-made to meet the needs of employers in the financial planning sector who require both management and specialist knowledge and skills. Nelson Mandela University in co-operation with the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI), is the first academic institution to offer a formal BCom degree in Financial Planning, giving access to membership of the FPI. The FPI is the highly regarded professional certification institute in the financial planning industry in Southern Africa, carrying an international certification benchmark of recognition by the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB). The successful completion of the BCom (Financial Planning) programme will lead to a professional qualification, namely that of Financial Services Associate (FSA), awarded by the FPI.

This programme provides alternative university access to students who have the potential to succeed, but do not meet the minimum admission requirements for the mainstream programme. The purpose of the programme is to integrate additional academic support and skills development with mainstream courses in order to prepare the student for successful completion of the Bachelor of Nursing degree qualification.

This programme provides training for students who want to develop psychological knowledge and skills for use in people-oriented careers in helping settings as well as in business settings. It also provides the foundation from which a professional qualification in either clinical/counselling psychology or industrial & organisational psychology can be built. The core modules cover the following broad areas: health psychology, gender and social psychology, traumatology, crosscultural psychology, neuropsychology, research methodology, relationship psychology, psychopathology, psychological assessment and intervention, career psychology, human resource management, organisational behaviour and consumer behaviour.
